“The Walworth County Alliance for Children is dedicated to the belief that all children are entitled to a life free of violence, abuse and neglect.”
Who We Serve
Walworth County Alliance for Children (WCAC) serves children and families throughout Walworth County—a rural area in southeast Wisconsin. Sadly, hundreds of children in our county are victims of abuse and neglect, are endangered by drugs, or are witnesses to domestic violence or other crimes.
The WCAC is an advocate for the victims and families affected by abuse. Our primary focus is protecting children and stopping the cycle of child abuse. We do this by providing child abuse awareness, prevention, education and training services and programs for children, families, schools, and community agencies in our area.
We also work to establish relationships with community partners, such as law enforcement, medical professionals, educators, the District Attorney’s office, Corporation Council, therapists, Health and Human Services and more. We bring these professionals the training they need to collaborate as a united team when investigating and handling sensitive crimes, and provide resources to ensure they can respond in a manner that always puts the needs of the child victim first.
The Tree House…
Our building, known as the Tree House, is a special place where abused children and their families come for help. The Walworth County Child Advocacy Center, a service of Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, occupies our building and is the agency that coordinates the child abuse investigation and intervention process, and provides medical, and therapy services to victims of abuse.
